Sponsorship forms for walkers are available for download at crittersavers.com. All proceeds raised from this event will benefit the homeless animals in our community.

"Chamber Music with Friends: Coffee Hour"
Musicians from ensembles across Space Coast come together for a free program of classical duets. This intimate coffee hour event will include music, refreshments, and a unique dialogue between performers and audience. Audiences of all ages and musical backgrounds welcome.
The event will begin at 1 pm at Trinity Wellsprings Church (638 S Patrick, Satellite Beach) and last approximately 1 hour.

More information:
Chamber music began as music played with and among friends. The name even comes from performances occurring in private chambers.
This free recital celebrates the personal nature of chamber music. We take you out of the formal classical setting, and invite you to join us for an afternoon of coffee, cookies, music, and friends (either in person or via livestream).

This is not your stereotypical classical concert, but one in which there will be a constant dialogue between performers and the audience, short breaks and chatting in between each piece, and, of course, coffee and cookies!
The experience is designed to bring the rich chamber music repertoire into a comfortable coffee house or tea time setting.
We welcome friends of all ages and of all musical backgrounds.

There are few organizations highlighting chamber music in this area, so recital brings together musical friends from several ensembles all across the Space Coast.

Performers include:

Jessica Pollack, clarinet, Central Florida Winds
Jodi Boeddeker, flute, Canticle, Central Florida Winds
Casey Dodd
Kathy McCreary, clarinet Space Coast Symphony Orchestra
Bliss Carter, oboe, Central Florida Winds
Loretta Anne Weierich, violin Melbourne Community Orchestra, Vero Beach Chamber Orchestra

This recital features a program of duets--the most intimate ensemble possible--and includes:
A world premiere written for this concert by Andy Normann, composer
Steam by Chelsea Komschlies
Stubborn as Hell by Stacy Garrop
Lament by Daniel Morel
Duetissimo by Reiner Kuttenberger

Chamber Music with Friends embraces intimacy, but not formality. All ages and musical interests are welcomed. Come as you are and we can’t wait to meet you.

Each Fall The Haven Guild hosts an elegant fundraiser, loving called The Havenly Affair. While the location and theme has changed from year to year, it has proven time and again to be an anticipated social affair.

Last year, VROOM! showcased an exquisite collection of 17 Aston Martin and Ferrari vehicles that had never previously been displayed in Brevard County. VROOM! was indeed an elegant event on an expansive personal estate where these showpieces were admired by some of Brevard’s most respected citizens and generous donors. The unique appeal of this high-end display at an exquisite venue set a record for the annual Fall fundraiser for The Haven for Children.

Building on this success, Concours del Sol will be held at the breathtaking Hacienda del Sol estate on Merritt Island on Sunday October 26th 2014. A Concours Event is a premier celebration of the automobile. It’s where the best of the car world congregate to share their historic tales and let car lovers appreciate their beauty. Concours del Sol will feature up to 20 rare and unique vehicles chosen by our event Curators.

Kempf's Jewelers is again donating a custom designed piece of jewelry for auction, and guests will be wined and dined in an afternoon of complete luxury.

2nd Annual Children's Hunger Summit

  • 2nd Annual Children's Hunger Summit

Date: Tuesday October 28, 2014
Time: 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Category: Other

Location: Holiday Inn - Viera
Price: Open to Faith Based Leaders
The Children’s Hunger Project announces the 2nd Annual Child Hunger Summit to be held on Tuesday, October 28. The event, designed for religious leaders and leaders of faith-based organizations, will be held at the Holiday Inn-Viera and will be jointly sponsored by United Way and The Children’s Hunger Project.

Rains photoAccording to Rob Rains, President of United Way, “The Summit will bring awareness to Brevard County's faith-based leaders of the significant hunger issues local kids are facing and how their congregations can help generate the change necessary to help hungry kids here in our own backyard.”

Nutritionists, pediatricians, teachers, and other experts will frame the dangers of childhood malnutrition and hunger as it relates directly to early childhood learning. Dangers such as inhibited cognitive development, doing poorly in school and more likelihood of medical problems are just a few of the Anthony photoproblems associated with childhood hunger.

“As part of the Summit, religious leaders will learn what their roles can be in helping to solve the local hunger issue with our kids”, according to Sarah Anthony, Assistant Director of The Children’s Hunger Project. “The leaders will learn that the key to solving the problem is local, grassroots and within their grasp.”

Child Hunger Summit

Representatives of United Way, Project Hunger, and The Children's Hunger Project announce the 2nd Annual Child Hunger Summit to be held on Tuesday, October 28 from 9:00AM to 11:00AM.

The event, designed for religious leaders and leaders of faith-based organizations, will be held at the Holiday Inn-Viera and will be jointly sponsored by the three organizations. The event is with no charge to the religious community.

According to Rob Rains, President of United Way, “The Summit will bring awareness to Brevard County's faith-based leaders of the significant hunger issues local kids are facing and how their congregations can help generate the change necessary to help hungry kids here in our own backyard.”

Inhibited cognitive development, doing poorly in school and more likelihood of medical problems are just a few of the problems associated with childhood hunger.
