Date: Saturday April 18, 2015 through Sunday April 19, 2015.
Time: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Category: Educational

Location: 610 Hurley Boulevard in Palm Bay.
Participants are taught fundamental rifle marksmanship skills that are to allow a rifleman or riflewoman to be accurate out to 400 yards, with iron sights or a scope, a standard rifle and surplus ammo.

Most of the instruction at a Project Appleseed event is conducted on the firing range at 25 yards, at reduced size targets to simulate 100 to 400 yards.

Students will learn rifle shooting from the standing, sitting, kneeling, and prone positions, sight alignment, and breath control, along with safe gun handling, proper use of a sling, and Revolutionary War history.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. The clinic starts at 8:30 a.m. and will continue until 5 p.m., both days.
Please bring your own ear/eye protection, rifle with sling and ammo, rifle mat, bug repellent, hat, sunscreen, a packed lunch, snacks, and water to drink.

A .22 caliber rifle is recommended due to the cost of ammo, but a centerfire rifle can be used if preferred. About 250 rounds of ammo will be needed per day.

Women's Business Center

Time: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Location: Hartley Room at FIT
Price: FREE to Attend
The Women's Business Center (WBC) at Florida Tech has teamed up with the LEAD Brevard class of 2015 to organize its first Financial Fluency Awareness Fair. The WBC has seen an increased demand in access to resources regarding capital for businesses and cash flow management in general. One common thread is that many individuals and experienced business owners do not have a high level of financial fluency to help them gauge how they or their businesses are doing financially.

Our goal is to identify community resources that address the issue of financial fluency and allow these programs and services an opportunity to reach our community by means of the fair.

It is a FREE event and we will have over 15 community organizations on hand to share with you important tips about finance management. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the services your community has to offer.

The Ruth Funk Center for Textile Arts is pleased to announce Modern Twist: Contemporary Japanese Bamboo Art, an exhibition exploring the innovative shape bamboo art has taken since the mid-twentieth century. Curated by Dr. Andreas Marks, Minneapolis Institute of Arts and organized by International Arts and Artists, Modern Twist features a stunning selection of works from the Clark Center for Japanese Art and Culture. With rare wall-hung installations and pieces never before seen in the United States, this exhibition both engages and educates audiences about a vibrant cultural art form.

Modern Twist was curated by Dr. Andreas Marks, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Collection of the Clark Center, and tour organized by International Arts & Artists, Washington, DC. The exhibition was generously supported by the E. Rhodes & Leona B. Carpenter Foundation, Nomura Foundation, Japan Foundation, Los Angeles, and the Snider Family Fund.

The local presentation of this exhibition made possible in part by a grant from The Japan Foundation of New York.
